Licensed Master Social Worker
Ellie Bender received a master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from NYU. Ellie has experience treating adults, adolescents, and children with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, life transitions, PTSD, and ADHD. Ellie utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness interventions in her work. She also subspecializes in CBT-AR for children, teens, and adults with Avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). Ellie particularly enjoys working with children and teens, and collaborates effectively with their families and schools. Prior to joining Union Square Cognitive Therapy, Ellie received specialized training in the treatment of moderate and severe eating disorders in both Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient treatment programs. Having started her career in the Marketing and Public Relations industry, Ellie has a balanced perspective and ability to empathize with the stressors and concerns young professionals experience in the workplace.
Ellie is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin (2015). She has also completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training (2018) and thus is passionate about utilizing mindfulness and a mind-body approach in her clinical practice. At Union Square Cognitive Therapy, Ellie cultivates a warm, safe, and supportive environment where her clients can grow, develop healthier coping strategies, and invoke positive changes in their lives.
Ellie is licensed to practice in New York and is a licensed telehealth provider in Florida.
