Moriah Kearney, Ph.D.

Dr. Moriah Kearney received her Ph.D. in school psychology from Georgia State University (2021). She completed her predoctoral internship at Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District in Houston, Texas (2017 – 2018) and worked as a school psychologist in K-12 public schools for several years. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at The Children’s Assessment Center, with a focus on supporting youth and families who have experienced significant trauma. Dr. Kearney is a Brooklyn native and is happy to be working with New York clients and families again.

Dr. Kearney has worked with individuals across the lifespan in an array of settings including private practice, community mental health agencies, and schools. She specializes in working with adults, adolescents, and children with anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, body image and eating disturbances, and disruptive behavior disorders. She primarily uses cognitive behavioral, acceptance, and person-centered approaches to therapy.

Dr. Kearney often incorporates mindfulness in her treatment with adults and children. She utilizes parent coaching, school consultations, and caregiver collaboration when working with children and teens. She has specialized training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy for eating disorders. Dr. Kearney understands the power of creating trusting relationships and strives to build strong connections with clients as they work to recognize their strengths, achieve their personal goals, and improve their overall health.
