Rene D. Zweig, Ph.D.
Founder and Clinical Director
Dr. Zweig is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, a Certified Cognitive Therapist, a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, and an iaedp-approved Eating Disorder Supervisor. Dr. Zweig has been utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness interventions with her patients for 20 years.
Dr. Zweig graduated from the University of Michigan (1999) and earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Rutgers University (2005). She completed a pre-doctoral internship at the Yale University School of Medicine (2003-2004) and a postdoctoral fellowship at the American Institute for Cognitive Therapy (2004-2005). Prior to establishing Union Square Cognitive Therapy in 2010, she developed and directed the Eating Disorders Program at the American Institute for Cognitive Therapy. She co-authored Treatment Plans and Interventions for Bulimia and Binge-Eating Disorder.
Dr. Zweig specializes in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, body image, perfectionism, maternal mental health, and life transitions. Dr. Zweig also enjoys working with men and women who want to develop a healthier relationship with food and exercise using cognitive, behavioral, motivational, acceptance, and emotion regulation techniques.
Dr. Zweig is fully licensed to practice in New York and Connecticut, and is a licensed telehealth provider in Florida.
Dr. Zweig is also authorized under PSYPACT to practice telepsychology in participating states.
